Week 11–12 Blog // Tausif

Week 11–12 Blog During Weeks 11 and 12, my focus was on bringing the entire VehicleGrid project together into a final, cohesive submission. This involved coordinating all team members’ contributions, reviewing each section, and integrating the technology, social, legal, economic, and planning components into a single consistent research and proposal document. I worked closely with Manzil on refining the social research section and supporting the creation of design assets. I also helped guide the development of system diagrams and contributed directly to the UI design mock-ups, ensuring they aligned with the project’s functionality and overall vision. In addition, I consolidated all citations and references, checking consistency and formatting across the document. A major part of my role in this phase was finalising the planning components. While earlier planning work had already been completed, I focused on bringing the implementation plan, WBS, timeline, contingency, and testing consi...

week 10 - Manzil

This week marked the end of the project. I finalised the overall idea and ensured that everything was aligned with the requirements before submission. Work Completed I confirmed the final concept for my project after reviewing all feedback and previous revisions. I completed the full presentation, including visuals, explanations, and design documentation. I finalised all supporting materials such as research, diagrams, and written descriptions. I checked for consistency across every document and made the necessary adjustments. I submitted the complete presentation and all required files. Progress Summary This week was focused on wrapping everything up. The idea is now fully set, and all tasks have been completed. My project is officially submitted in its final form. Challenges Faced Making sure all documents matched each other after final revisions. Managing time while completing both presentation work and written deliverables.

Week 12 Blog

This week marked the final stage of Studio 1 , where our team focused primarily on completing and polishing the VehicleGrid research and concept presentation . Throughout the term, we have worked extensively on analysing the EV market landscape, designing user-centred wireframes, and developing an economically viable business model. Week 12 served as the culmination of all our research efforts before we transition into Studio 2 , where we will begin actual development of the VehicleGrid app.

Week 10 Blog – Communication Plan, Testing Plan & Final Planning Documentation This week I focused heavily on the planning documentation, particularly the Communication Plan and the Testing Plan. I consolidated our entire team workflow, tools, decision-making structure, meeting cadence, and escalation process into a single detailed plan. To strengthen this section, I incorporated research from Atlassian, including their communication frameworks, documentation standards, and channel-selection models. This helped transform the communication plan into a research-backed, industry-aligned piece. I also finalized the Testing Plan by outlining the testing objectives, testing phases, the types of testing we'll perform, the devices we will test on (iPad Mini, iPhone 15, Samsung S23 Ultra), and what we aim to demonstrate at the end (real EV routing, vehicle entry, test runs, algorithm evaluation, and end-to-end usability). A major part of this week involved establishing what we will actu...

Week 9 blog Tausif

Week 9 Blog – Legal/Political Research & System Architecture Foundations This week I shifted from technology research to the legal, political, and compliance requirements that affect VehicleGrid in Australia, New Zealand, and India. This included looking at privacy laws, geolocation tracking regulations, consumer protections, EV charging safety standards, and digital services compliance. I spent time mapping out how these rules impact our app features, especially data collection, location tracking, user permissions, and EV charger listings. Through this research, I identified several key areas that will influence our development later. The Privacy Act 1988 (AUS), Privacy Act 2020 (NZ), and India's DPDP Act 2023 are relevant for handling user data and location permissions. EV charging standards and electrical safety guidelines affect how we display charging information. Laws that prevent misleading route suggestions, inaccurate range predictions, or faulty charger listings need ...

Week 8 Blog – Technology Research & Early Technical Foundations //Tausif Rahman

Week 8 Blog – Technology Research & Early Technical Foundations This week my main focus was on deepening the technology research for VehicleGrid and refining the core technical direction of the system. I spent a significant amount of time analyzing the technological landscape around EV routing, charging infrastructure APIs, optimization algorithms, and geolocation services. This was important for validating whether our concept was technically feasible before we progress into design and implementation. I examined the major algorithms used in EV routing, including A*, Dijkstra, reinforcement-learning approaches, and more advanced optimization methods used in recent studies. I also looked into how battery characteristics, environmental factors, and charger availability influence route calculations. This helped clarify the technical bottlenecks we may face later, especially around data accuracy and range-anxiety modeling. On the integration side, I researched multiple API options...
