Week 7
During Week 7, we focused on refinement, consistency, and overall application value. By this stage, the goal was not only to define features, but to make sure the system worked together as one connected product. We reviewed how the major sections of VehicleGrid contributed to the user experience and whether the application presented itself as a realistic and practical solution.
A major part of this week’s work was evaluating the quality of the current screens and interactions. We considered whether the app looked and behaved like a professional business application rather than a basic student prototype. This led us to review layout consistency, feature purpose, and the quality of the interface direction more carefully. We wanted the application to feel cleaner, more modern, and more suitable for real EV users.
We also reviewed the functional logic across different parts of the app. It became important to identify any pages or sections that existed without meaningful data connection or practical value. We discussed whether each feature supported the main purpose of helping users locate chargers, plan trips, and manage EV-related information. This helped us identify where some areas needed stronger integration with backend data or more relevant content.
The charger and trip planning workflow remained central this week. We continued considering how users should move from checking chargers to planning a route and understanding whether their trip is feasible. Even where advanced implementation was still being developed, the overall system logic became clearer and more realistic. This helped strengthen the identity of VehicleGrid as more than just a charger listing platform.
In addition, we started thinking more about future scalability. We discussed how the app could later support stronger backend management, richer data handling, and more robust system design if expanded further. This gave the project a more professional direction and helped us think beyond the immediate prototype.
Overall, Week 7 focused on making VehicleGrid more coherent, realistic, and valuable as a software product. We strengthened the project not only through feature development, but also through review, improvement, and better alignment with the original purpose of the app.
Challenges
The main challenge this week was making sure the app had depth and not just visual appeal. Some parts needed stronger logic and better data integration to justify their place in the system. Another challenge was balancing visual polish, technical feasibility, and project time constraints.
Plan for Next Week
Next week, we plan to continue refining the application, strengthen feature implementation, and prepare the project for a more complete and polished demonstration.
